Belgian Waffles

1-1/2 cups flour
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3 egg yolks, beaten
3/4 cup sour cream
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup shortening, melted and cooled
1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten

Mix together first 5 ingredients. Combine beaten egg yolks, sour cream and buttermilk and add to dry ingredients alternately with the cooled shortening and butter. Stir gently until no longer lumpy. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Cook in waffle iron according to waffle iron instructions. Serve with fruit and whipped cream.
