November 20, 2009, Newsletter Issue #242: Get Creative

Tip of the Week

These days, in a small town with a flailing economy, I just don't get to the store much. I do, however, still need to feed the kids, the husband and myself.

Feeding the other three in particular requires some massive creativity with the odds and ends that we still have around the house before grocery shopping time. Daughter one has Celiac's (no gluten for her!) and is allergic to milk, not to mention being the pickiest eater of the house! Daughter two will eat anything so long as there is no spice at all to it and the mushrooms are not to be seen. The husband is only a little bit picky but vocal nonetheless.

Some of my best recipes and tips have come about when I had very little to work with while trying to keep everyone happy! Some of my worst have also but if you don't try it, you will never know which one is a gem and which needs to be thrown out!!

Get creative in the kitchen, develop your own recipes, you'll might just surprise yourself!
