August 28, 2009, Newsletter Issue #230: Low-Fat Crockpot Cooking

Tip of the Week

It is easier than you might think to cut the fat in your crockpot recipes. Most of the meat dishes that you prepare in your crockpot require cooking the meat in some sort of liquid, often that liquid is canned soup. To cut the fat, use a fat-free variety of soup...you will cut the fat without sacrificing any of the flavor, and the end-product will be just as tender and flavorful.
