Do you have a recipe for buttermilk donuts?

Buttermilk Donuts

1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbsp shortening, melted
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
oil for deep frying

Beat egg. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add shortening and buttermilk. Sift the dry ingredients together and add to the egg mixture. Mix well and chill for 10 to 15 minutes.

Heat oil to 370 degrees F. Knead dough and roll on a floured board to about 1/2" thickness. Cut into
1.5x3" bars and fry in hot oil, keeping donuts separated, for about 3 minutes per side until browned.

Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar, or make a powdered sugar glaze by adding enough milk to some powdered sugar till it is the consistancy that you want.
