Veal Parmigiana

3 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp salt
4 veal steaks
1 egg, slightly beaten
4 thin slices Mozzarella cheese
1 (14-1/2 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp basil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp sugar

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Melt butter in a 6x10" baking dish. Combine bread crumbs, Parmesan and salt. Dip veal in egg, then in crumb mixture. Place in baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Turn veal and continue baking 20 minutes more.

In the meantime, combine tomato sauce, oregano, basil, garlic and sugar. Heat to boiling; stirring frequently, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Pour over meat and top with the sliced Mozzarella. Return to oven for 2-3 minutes to melt cheese. Serve with spaghetti.
